We begin with a new patient examination with dental therapist, Michelle Paxton. The fee for a new patient examination is £79 – details below of what’s included! Michelle will then match you to the most suitable dentist for your ongoing care and recommend the best care plan for you. You’ll start benefitting from membership straight away with your first hygiene treatment at the same appointment!
During your new patient examination, we are keen to understand if you have any concerns, no matter how small. After listening to your queries, problems and aspirations, our dental therapist will then carry out a comprehensive oral health exam as well as a hygiene treatment that will take approximately 45 minutes.

Following this examination, our dental therapist, Michelle, will explain her findings to you and select a dentist to suit your needs. We will then invite you to join the practice so you can start benefitting from the care plans as a member straight away. At your first appointment with your new dentist, where needed, we will provide any recommendations for treatment to restore your mouth to its healthiest possible condition. We always discuss the fees for any proposed treatment options and give you a printed estimate. If you need more clarification on treatment please ask your dentist.
As part of your new patient membership, you can access check-ups, hygiene appointments, general dentistry and cosmetic dental treatments including teeth whitening, teeth straightening and dental implants. You can discuss all of our dental services at your first appointment.
If you are a member of The Gentle Touch, your child or children can also be looked after at the practice. We offer NHS treatments for children including Childsmile. We can also arrange for private treatments including orthodontics and gum shields for team sports.
