John Thompson graduated from Queens University Belfast in 2005 before moving over to Scotland. He completed his Vocational Training at Duns Dental Practice in the Scottish Borders.
After 5 years in the Borders, John took the opportunity to move to Australia where he lived and worked in private practice in Melbourne.
After returning, John moved to Edinburgh and now splits his clinical time between Edinburgh and the Gentle Touch in Kelso. John has been with the Gentle Touch since 2012 and thoroughly enjoys working here. So much so, that in 2019 he increased his time in Kelso taking on many patients following Stuart Norman’s retirement.
John has completed his MJDF from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and the Advanced Restorative Course Scotland. He has also undertaken numerous further courses in endodontic and restorative dentistry. John’s focus has been on minimally invasive aesthetic dentistry.
John’s aim is to provide the highest standard of care to his patients in the most relaxed, friendly environment possible. To do this, he aims to achieve an aesthetic and long-lasting result with the least intervention possible. John involves his patients fully in all aspects of their treatment.
John Thompson lives with his wife in Edinburgh. He is a keen tennis player, cricketer and golfer – all with varying degrees of success! Recently, during the COVID-19 lockdown, John discovered the joy of cycling. He aims, now, to more miles behind him.
