Dentistry continues in Lockdown in Scotland

As Scotland enters a new Lockdown on 5th January, please be assured that we remain open. Dentistry is an essential health service and that’s why we will continue to look after our members. Therefore, please come to your scheduled appointments as normal. It’s important to continue to call us with any dental emergencies you may have.

We take COVID-safety extremely seriously with rigorous sanitising, PPE and distancing protocols in place. As has been the case since summer 2020, we ask you to follow our arrival protocols at all appointments.

We have taken every care to ensure that the full suite of covid-safety measures are in place. As a healthcare setting, we take this responsibility extremely seriously. We realise that some patients will feel nervous about attending, of course, and please get in touch if this applies to you. You can find out more about our covid-safety measures here. It may also be useful to hear a recent “review” of the Gentle Touch from one of our patients:

The Gentle Touch opening hours will be unaffected by the lockdown.

Yes, all members of the Gentle Touch who live south of the Border can continue to attend appointments. Please come to our clinic in Kelso as normal. This is because travel for health reasons is permitted by lockdown rules in England and in Scotland.

Most of our dental services will be available throughout the lockdown (and Tier 4) restriction period. However, a small number of treatments which are purely for aesthetic reasons (e.g. teeth whitening) will be deferred until the Scottish Borders moves into one of the lower Tiers again.
